Communities of Practice

Provide new skills and professional support to your team through a Community of Practice (CoP). If you already have one, we'll help you grow it further, and if you need to create one from scratch, we'll do it together. We'll build a plan, create the right team (DevRel) and the metrics to measure results.

  • Boost team productivity

Helps solve complex problems, facilitates on-boarding, improves efficiency, helps share experience and skills, eliminates silos and skills gaps between team members.

  • Innovate and scale

Enables the rapid and effective introduction of technological developments. Stimulates creativity and innovation by encouraging debate and new ideas.

  • Accelerate time to market

Boost business competitiveness: both technical and organisational changes.

  • Attracting and retaining talent

Strengthen the organisational culture of learning and collaboration, and improve engagement.

Planning & Design

The first step is to identify the scope of the community and define its purpose. Define a core group of people to lead the effort and define the criteria along with the objectives of the community. In this way, the support of all stakeholders in the organisation can be secured from the outset. At this point you will define the KPIs that will measure the evolution and success of the CoP.

Implementation & development

In this phase, we establish a safe space where members can meet and communicate openly and effectively. It is essential to develop a supportive network that includes clear rules of engagement to foster a collaborative environment. It is also crucial to motivate members to adopt common approaches that strengthen group cohesion.

Consolidation & growth

As the community grows, it is important to implement tools to store and share the knowledge being shared. Recognising the impact of the community on the professional development of the team and its value to the organisation contributes to its sustainability. Finally, it is essential to integrate the community as a key part of the organisation. Giving visibility to its evolution and progression (metrics) will be crucial for its consolidation and growth.

Types of Meetings

The programme includes practical workshops focused on techniques such as TDD, Mocking, Outside-in and Refactoring, in which participants apply their knowledge to real challenges. In addition, talks by experts, such as Sandro Mancuso, and active learning groups. There are also instructional sessions on best practices, along with brainstorming for new initiatives. Finally, interactive panels and fireside chats facilitate open dialogue on strategic issues.

One of the objectives of Scentmate by dsm-firmenich is to become the benchmark for innovation and digital culture in the fragrance sector. But in reality it is more than a goal, it is a culture, a way of doing things and understanding the business. Codurance is playing a key role in helping us achieve this. That's why for us Codurance is more than a partner, it's a fellow traveller.

Alfonso Álvarez Prieto General Manager & Founder of Scentmate en dsm-firmenich

We worked with Codurance because of their solid reputation in Software Craftsmanship, an approach that fits perfectly in our context, and because their courses are highly tested and valued by our developers. The ability to understand and adapt to our needs is a highlight of our partnership.
